The removal of ceramic braces is similar to other types of braces, they are completed in steps to ensure each piece is removed carefully, and effectively.

Step 1:
Remove the brackets and wires in one entire piece to keep the integrity of your teeth intact. A customized pair of pilers have been created to apply the pressure necessary for braces to be removed, this will be applied to each individual bracket per row. The pressure will loosen the bracket that is held onto each tooth, and allow it to become free. This will be completed for each bracket until all have been removed.

Step 2:
Remove the dental cement which is what kept the brackets and wires on the teeth. Our orthodontist will carefully remove the cement by polishing it away with a small tool.

Step 3:
You will be supplied with a retainer once the ceramic clear braces are removed. The retainer is necessary to apply pressure to keep your teeth in the proper position. You will wear the retainer which is custom created for your teeth from a mold that was taken after the braces have been removed. This retainer may be temporary depending on your teeth, and will often be worn only when you are sleeping.

The entire removal process usually takes no more than an hour to complete.

Ceramic braces take around the same length of time as traditional metal braces, usually, they take between 18 to 36 months to completely straighten your teeth.
